How to Get to Our Office
Our office is a short drive from Absecon, Northfield, Linwood, Somers Point, and Egg Harbor Township. Most clients come by one of two routes:
- From Atlantic City Expressway Exit 5: take New Road (Route 9) south to Washington Avenue, then head east to Main Street.
- Traveling north on Shore Road: continue as it becomes Main Street in Pleasantville and crosses the Black Horse Pike before reaching us.
You do not need to live nearby to meet with us here. Anyone charged in Atlantic County can choose whichever of our two offices is more convenient.
Criminal Cases We Defend in Pleasantville, NJ
Charges here often start with a traffic stop, a call to a home, or a store security report. Our attorney defends adults and juveniles accused of:
- DUI and refusing a breath test
- Drug possession and distribution
- Domestic violence and restraining order violations
- Shoplifting, theft, and burglary
- Gun and weapons charges
- Sex crimes
- Assault and other violent crimes
We also handle probation violations and expungements. An expungement can clear an eligible record from public view.
Where Do Pleasantville Criminal Cases Go to Court?
Pleasantville shares municipal court services with Atlantic City. The Atlantic City Joint Municipal Court handles matters such as traffic tickets, DUI charges, and lower-level offenses arising in Pleasantville. In contrast, the Superior Court in Mays Landing handles more serious indictable charges.
If you remain in jail after an arrest, release deadlines can become an immediate concern. Under New Jersey’s Criminal Justice Reform Act, the court generally must decide on release within 48 hours of commitment to the county jail. For eligible cases involving the use or possession of a firearm, prosecutors may request additional time for a firearms ballistic analysis; under a January 2026 New Jersey Supreme Court order, that extension cannot exceed seven days.
Why Hire Our Criminal Defense Lawyer in Pleasantville?
Founding lawyer Louis A. Casadia clerked for a criminal court judge, then spent more than seven years as an Assistant Prosecutor in Burlington and Atlantic counties. He finished that career in the Special Victims Unit.
Casadia grew up in South Jersey, and the New Jersey Supreme Court has recognized him as a Certified Criminal Trial Attorney. He knows how the state puts a case together because he used to do it.
